Choosing a hosting provider

You will need a service called ‘hosting’ for your web site. This is basically a computer (called a server) that is connected to the internet 24/7 that makes your website available for viewing.

There are an overwhelming number of options for hosting everywhere from free to hundreds (and even thousands) of dollars per month.

Chances are, if you are like many small enterprises, you will be able to find a plan for $10 or less.

Plans are most commonly available with Linux/Unix or Windows server platforms. My recommendation is to go for Linux as it’s generally less expensive and I think it’s more flexible and secure.

I offer optional hosting to my clients starting at $8/month for those that prefer to have one stop shopping.
