A Simple Website for an Artist

Many older tables-based websites can benefit from being re-coded to modern standards.

This site was rebuilt to make it easier to update, perform better with search engines, and provide a nicer user experience. This is an example of a site done professionally but on a tight budget.

The artist’s gallery paintings are displayed elegantly on modern browsers but also are accessible on older systems—something called ‘progressive enhancement’.

The contact information is coded using microformats as an ‘hcard’. The idea is to make information meaningful to search engines, users and applications.

A contact form was not an option so the email link was encoded to protect the email address from being harvested by spammers.
